Cleveland
Oak is a family business founded in 1916 which now
consists of three operating divisions:
•
Oak Friction Product Division
•
Material Processing Division
•
Conveyor Components Division
Oak Friction Division
Our
Oak Friction Product Division contract manufactures
friction plates and shoes, bonds friction material
to customer supplied parts and fabricates friction
products for a variety of industrial customers such
as press manufacturers, stamping plants, appliance,
automotive and machinery manufacturers and many others
who need parts to start, stop or regulate motion utilizing
friction materials. We stock many types of linings
and are capable of manufacturing parts small enough
to fit in your hand up to approx. 10 ft in diameter.
We manufacture quantities from upwards of a million
pieces per year down to one or two very large clutch
plates at a time.
Material Processing Division
Our machinery that we use to
manufacture friction material is also put to use for
other customers whose needs range far beyond friction
products. Our computer controlled water jet capabilities
enable us to cut almost any material up to 2 in. thick
with the accuracy to .003". Glass, Plastic, Rubber,
and Metal can be cut without changing the composition
of the material as virtually no heat is generated
during the cutting process.
We also have large capacity ovens and
shot blasting machines to clean and prepare many types
of parts: We routinely clean and blast metal parts
and clean rubber from metal substrates. We have the
capability to surface grind, precision sand and machine
many materials. We specialize in composites but also
have turned large steel clutch plates and done other
metal working as well.
Conveyor
Components Division
Cleveland Oak's Conveyor Component Division
manufactures a line of patented idlers which have
been specifically
designed to improve the efficiency of bulk material
handling belt conveyor systems.
Our TRACKSTAR return training idler keeps
belts from destroying themselves prematurely by keeping
them centered on the return or underside of the conveyor.
Its patented single bearing design balances the belt
on itself preventing the wandering and instability
which occurs when conventional return training idlers
are used.
Cleveland Oak RIBBED IDLER COVERS are
rubber covers extruded in sleeves with thick longitudinal
ribs. These ribbed sleeves are installed on conventional
return idlers in either a STRAIGHT RIBBED or CHEVRON
RIBBED pattern. The straight rib acts as a belt beater,
cleaning unwanted carry back from the belt. The chevron
pattern also helps clean the belt but runs smoothly
keeping build up from altering the shape of the idler
and causing training problems. It is especially effective
where rubber disc type idlers are currently being
used.
